Best Christmas Videos Of 2011

The year has come to an end but surely enough we've had our share of laughs and emotions. Because we believe that emotions give life to our work, here are the best 5 videos that inspired us during this Christmas:

1- Old Spice "MANta Claus": Because you can't get enough of that Old Spice guy!

2- A Very Calvin and Hobbes Christmas: Because even a simple animation can do the trick!

3- Apple "Santa Siri": Because even Santa can use modern apps for Christmas!

4- Beatbox Nativity: Because a little holiday humor goes a long way!

5- Saks Christmas Light Show: Because some companies are innovating through creativity!

This year has been amazing for all of us here in Kinetik Lab, we want to share that happiness with everyone and wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Insight: Kenta Torii

Being able to see an artist in action is something breathtaking. You get to see every step of the way, every decision as it is made minute after minute. Part of the project which we are developing with the japanese artist Kenta Torii is already completed, but before we release the final stage we wanted to show you an in depth conversation with the man himself...

1-
What do you like to express through your paintings?

The theme to my paintings is giving shape to my feelings, in order to get to know myself.

How do you select the colors for your paintings?

It depends on what I want to express with the paintings and also on my motivation.

In a near future, what would you like to do to develop your style?

I would like to continue creating lots of pieces in order for my technique to grow and affirm my own style.

Would you work with other means of expression?

Yes, I would very much like to get into sculpture at some point.

Your work is a combination of realism with abstract elements, have you ever though of doing something strictly realistic?

Yes, at first I though that hyper realism was good but, little by little, as I was painting I fell in love with playing with materials and shapes.

Which has been your latest inspiration?

Living in Mexico City is definitely helping my inspiration. A city that’s growing very fast but at the same time there’s another part behind it which combines with nature, this unstable coexistence is part of my theme right now.

Here are some images of Kenta's latest work (including the piece he did for Kinetik):

A glimpse into our latest project

Currently we are developing our first art & technology project alongside japanese artist Kenta Torii. His unique style and graphic proposal have overwhelmed art lovers in Mexico for almost 5 years, but it wasn't until now that he decided to think out of the box and collaborate in an audiovisual project with Kinetik. This is a preview of the project which is a portrayal of art in motion, we happen to be very pleased with the process. Keep an eye out for the following updates related to this dynamic collaboration.

It´s always nice to see a printed version

Through Esquire Magazine México:

We came across an ad featuring the Gillette 3D campaign
in which we were involved.

Kinetik was in charge of supervising the post production and concept design of this campaign. The agency´s involvement went beyond any expectations by developing a unique display of 3D modeling and texturing. After designing the concept, everything had to be adapted into 3D through stereoscopy. This marks the agency's first involvement in a 3D advertisement campaign.

Stay tuned to check out the rest of the campaign!
